Overview

Library Pages play an integral role in ensuring that our resources are available and accessible to the millions of patrons that visit the Library each year. Library Pages are responsible for organizing the library's collections and preparing the library facilities for program use. Our Library Pages are able to apply what they’ve learned in school while continuing to gain essential work experience with a team of fun and knowledgeable colleagues and leaders. This position will be scheduled for up to 19-hours per week, duriung Library for the Performing Arts hours.

Principal Responsibilities

Under the direction of a Page supervisor, Library Pages are responsible for a variety of tasks within the library, including:

  • Copying & scanning
  • Filing
  • Updating databases
  • Researching sundry questions
  • Running errands
  • Maintaining calendar
  • Creating drafts of accounting reports
  • Answering the phone if the Administrative Associate isn't available
  • Drafting documents

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an approved degree program at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and foster cooperative and courteous working relationships.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, speed and accuracy in carrying out duties.
  • Ability to sort efficiently in alphabetic, numeric or alphanumeric order.
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, the Internet and e-mail programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team and on independent projects -Demonstrated flexibility and reliability.
  • Customer service experience preferred. 

 

Work Environment

  • This position is located in a research library. 

Physical Duties

  • This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of library materials; pushing and pulling of book carts; and frequent stooping and reaching.

Starting Salary

USD $11.00/Hr.

Hours

Up to 19 Hours per week. Preferrably two or three days a week, generally between 10 and 6 on weekdays, occasional evenings may be requested.
