  • Overview

    The New York Public Library seeks a library page to work in the Youth Education Office, supporting MyLibraryNYC - an innovative partnership between the DOE and the three public library systems in New York City, providing educators and students in over 500 participating schools with access to free library resources and expanded library privileges, and offering teachers professional development opportunities.

    Principal Responsibilities

    Working under the supervision of the MyLibraryNYC Program Manager, the page will be asked to contribute in various ways and learn important skills along the way. The page is responsible for a variety of tasks within the office, including:

    • Helping to collect, enter and analyze program data in Excel
    • Assisting with filing purchase orders and other program documents
    • Drafting/editing presentations and written documents
    • Assisting with light office work (scheduling meetings, preparing/photocopying materials for meetings, keeping files in order etc.)
    • Performing other related duties as required

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Positive, can-do attitude, curiosity and ability to learn and adapt.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and foster cooperative and courteous working relationships.
    • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, speed and accuracy in carrying out duties.
    • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (including Excel and Power Point), the Internet and e-mail programs.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with a team and on independent projects.
    • Demonstrated flexibility and reliability.
