The Outreach Services and Adult Programming team supports NYPL’s neighborhood and research libraries by providing training and advice on community outreach and programs, and is responsible for the development of general adult programming and targeted outreach to people with disabilities, immigrants with English as a second language, the homeless, veterans, people in prison, and people aged 50 and over.
NYPL’s Outreach Services and Adult Programming (ORS + AP) team seeks an enthusiastic candidate to fill the role of Outreach Assistant. The Outreach Assistant must have excellent organizational and communication skills and have a high level of comfort engaging with individuals and groups of all abilities and from a wide range of backgrounds.
The Outreach Assistant will work with the Outreach Manager, Library staff and community partners to promote the Library’s immigrant programs and services, and in particular, connect patrons to the NYCitizenship program within the Library system across the 3 boroughs we serve: the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island.
This position reports to the Outreach Manager, Outreach Services and Adult Programming.
This position is funded by the NYCitizenship program and is temporary through June 30th, 2019.
Work will take place in several environments: office setting, branch libraries, and community organizations and events. Local travel is required.
